Act 4 Scene 1
The witches have said that the time has come to speak to Macbeth. Concentrated to their spell, they chant as they circle the cauldron, throwing in many ingredients to make a brew.
Then the witches finish their brew are congratulated by Hecate. Macbeth enters and challenges then to answer what he asks, irrespective of the most upcoming consequences.
The witches show their apparitions. An armed head warns Macbeth “beware Macbeth”. A bloody child tells him that no naturally born man can harm him. Macbeth then swears to kill Macduff.
The third apparition promises that Macbeth will not be defeated until Birnam Wood comes to dunsinane. Macbeth demands to no more about the future.
Having presented Banquo’s descendants as kings, the witches then vanish, to Macbeth’s anger. Macbeth vows to kill every member of macduffs family he can catch.
